prepares its first ONE-DAY License Class - May, 2011
A group of ARA board members and other supporters are preparing for a ONE-DAY Tech License Class and VE Testing session. The date for this session will be coordinated with the Alabama QSO Party so that the students can go through the class, take the license exam and also enjoy exciting HF contacts all in the same day. - Amateur Radio Advancement Group established - August 3, 2010
The BARC Development, Inc. Board of Directors unanimously approved the establishment of 'Amateur Radio Advancement Group' (ARA Group) as the name to be used by the organization. The Secretary will file the appropriate forms to properly establish this as the DBA name for BARC Development.

2009
The IRS notified BARC Development of the approved of the application for exemption from Federal income tax under 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. BARC Development is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfer of gifts under section 2005, 2106, or 2522 of the Code.

2009
The IRS Form 1023 (and attachments and filing fee) was submitted to the IRS for review and approval. This allows BARC Development, Inc. to operate as a tax-exempt 501(c)3 and allows donations to be tax deductible by the donor to the extent allowed by law. - Approved by IRS - August 6, 2009

Donations - May 22, 2009
After approval of a resolution by the Board of Directors, Jim Rogers, Treasurer, established a bank account with a deposit of the initial donations to BARC Development, Inc.
- Adoption of Gift Acceptance Policy -

A policy document outlining gift acceptance was reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors.
- Corporation Formed - May 11, 2009
The Articles of Incorporation were filed with the Probate Judge of Jefferson County, Alabama and the Certificate of Incorporation was received at that time. The three Incorporators were: Ken Adkisson, WB4FAY; Jeff Drew, N4JDU; and Paul Nash, W4JY. The initial officers and board members listed in the filing were: Mike Burns - KE4DZU, Director; Dave Cisco - W4AXL, Director; Jim McLester - W4YXU, Director; John Outland - K3FP, President; Marvin Tucker - KK4TC, Vice President; and Jim Rogers - W4ATK, Secretary/Treasurer.
